The "agriturismo" Locanda dell'Angelo (Angel Inn) is situated over 400
metres above sea level and nestles in ancient olive grove in the Umbrian
hills. Once known as the Villa Bagnariae, because of
the abundance of natural springs in the vicinity, the farmhouse dates back to the thirteenth
century. A tiny chapel, dedicated to the Madonna del Carmine, was
erected in 1333 next to the farmhouse, which has stunning views of the
basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli and the vale of Assisi.
The agriturismo specialises in the production of organic olive oil if you
love peace and quiet in natural surroundings, this is the holiday you have
been looking for.
The Angel Inn offers very comfortable accomodation in both single and
double rooms, or miniappartaments, all with en suite shower rooms. In
the old stables, which have now been tastefully restored into dining and
refreshment areas, one may rediscover, booking in advance, the simple
yet delicious flavours of genuine Italian cuisine.
The agriturismo is 5 km from the ancient town of Assisi and but a short
drive from other major historical and cultural centres of Umbria:
Perugia, Spello, Bevagna, Montefalco. In less an hour's drive you can
reach Todi, Orvieto, Gubbio, Spoleto and Lake Trasimeno.
